To be established locally and internationally as a national statistics institution. 

Our Mission:
To provide accurate and quality and timely statistics, to provide data as per the needs of policy makers, planners, researchers and decision makers, to enhance institutional skills, to establish professionalism. 

Notable activities / functions of Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics:
The traditional ideology that has prevailed in the long-term activities of the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics has been revived in the last three years as a result of changes in its structure and modus operandi. As a result, it has become easier for the company to keep pace with the pace of globalization. Because the functions of Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics have been redesigned according to the needs of the time. The main activities of BBS are:
01) Collection, compilation, editing, analysis, preservation and publication of quality and timely statistics on any subject; 02) Provide quality and user-friendly statistics to the needs of development planners, policy makers, research and educational institutions, national and international organizations and other users at the government level;
03) Integration of statistical preparation activities with the mainstream of planning and development of national statistics system by introducing National Statistical Strategy (NSDS); 04) To take integrated activities for collection, processing and publication of primary and secondary statistics from other government and non-government departments; 05) Establishment of training academy and creation, supply and development of skilled manpower in statistics;
06) To increase public awareness about the role of statistics and the role of activities in the national development program; 08) Modernization of the use of information technology in statistics programs; 08) Updating and preserving the Geo Code system as the only official Geo Code system developed by BBS and motivating all other government agencies or institutions to use it; 09) Preparation and updating of National Population Register; 10) Preparation of integrated central GIS;
